What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach for the treatment of a wide range of psychological problems including depression and anxiety. CBT is a short term (typically 12 - 20 sessions) therapy that emphasizes the role of thinking in how we feel and behave. It focuses on the relationship between a person’s thoughts, behaviours and feelings and the roles they play in a person’s life. We offer CBT for anxiety and depression (individual therapy) and CBT for Insomnia (individual program).
CBT is a structured, problem-focused and practical therapy. During CBT treatment, the individual learns how to identify and manage irrational thoughts and develop strategies to cope with difficult situations. In CBT, the goal is to have accurate, rational thoughts and behaviours.
